HR Director (m/f/d)

Location: Zagreb

The HR Director will play a pivotal role in driving and implementing HR strategy aligned with the company’s transformation and growth objectives. This role will lead the HR team, oversee departmental restructuring, support managers and key stakeholders in change management processes, and ensure HR initiatives contribute effectively to business development and operational excellence.

Main responsibilities:

  • Leading the HR function across all areas, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation & benefits, and L&D.
  • Managing and mentoring the HR team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Acting as a strategic business partner to senior management, advising on organizational design, workforce planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Driving and overseeing HR aspects of transformation and restructuring projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and employee engagement.
  • Implementing people strategies that support business development and operational expansion.
  • Supporting managers and department heads through coaching and training during periods of change and growth.
  • Developing and implementing policies and frameworks that promote a culture of agility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Overseeing compliance with labor laws, employee regulations, and group-wide HR standards.
  • Analyzing HR metrics and delivering strategic insights to management for decision-making.

Required skills, knowledge, and experience:

  • Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in HR, with at least 3 years in a senior HR leadership role.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a multinational or matrixed organization; FMCG or healthcare sector experience preferred.
  • Proven experience managing restructuring, organizational change, and HR transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of labor legislation and HR best practices in Croatia and the region.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop HR teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills with a strong stakeholder management focus.
  • Fluent in Croatian and English (written and spoken).
